Today, worlwide, old calendars are ripped from walls and replaced by new ones, people are pondering last year's endeavors and struggles and are planning their lives for the next year and making resolutions about how they will live it.

Although artificial, based on a strictly arbitrary though well accepted point in time, New Year's Day is highly symbolic to a great number of cultures and societies. To many of our planet's residents, it represents a new beginning- a time to re-evaluate old and formulate new ideas, called New Year's Resolutions, of who they are and how they can become what they would like to be.

During my efforts to formulate my own New Year's Resolutions, I came upon a catchy little jingle that encapsulates many of my Resolution ideas in a highly memorable form:

This year I resolve to:
reduce my girth and improve my worth while maximizing my mirth.

Yeah, I know, it's kinda cheesy, but it works for me. Cheesy as it is it probably works for a lot of other people, too. You can use it if you want to, but I think a good experiment in "improving your worth" would be to go the extra mile and properly attribute credit to its creator. ;-)
