Saturday February 17 Meta Reading back through previous editions of TOV brings delight mixed with regret. Delight at reliving memories I have recorded over the past couple of years or so that I have been writing TOV, and regret at all the delightful memories doomed to fade and grow vague without the benefit of having been recorded here. Such is life, I suppose, a constant stream of consciousness continuously recorded. As new memories are created they lay like translucent layers over those of the past. When we hold this stack of memory-layers up to the light of recollection, we see the superimposed composite experience-image of the past. In order to slide one of these layers out to be viewed individually, a sort of indexing system must be created to allow us to locate the single layer. That, in part, is the purpose of TOV. So, then, we can say that for the past two+ months TOV has been an utter failure. Of course, all that can be done to remedy this situation is to do better in the future. Yes, I know, you've heard me say that before. hopefully I won't need to say it again anytime soon. I'll see what I can do. |
